I’m Ian Nowicki, and Full Contact Anglers is my fly fishing company — built around the same things I care about on the water: honest conditions, good flies, and showing up ready for whatever the river is doing that day.

What I love most about fly fishing is that there’s no single “right way” to do it. No fixed rules, and no way to ever know it all. The water is always changing — no day the same, no hour the same, every bend a new challenge. It’s as much a personal evolution as a physical one, and for me a spiritual one too. The rod is a direct connection, a bridge into the natural world we’re part of, not separate from. That’s what makes it art and science at the same time. A lot of us are looking for that connection in a world that makes it easy to disconnect.

Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to learn from, train with, and compete against some of the best fly tiers and anglers in the world. That path shaped how I fish, how I tie, and how I share the craft on YouTube and Instagram.

A core part of this site is the free River Flows dashboard. I built it because I wanted one clean place to check streamflow, water temp, and weather on the waters that matter — without ads, paywalls, or five agency tabs before dawn. It stays free on purpose. Conditions intel shouldn’t be locked up when you’re trying to decide whether to drive.
