Western Reservoir Levels

Reservoirs decide the tailwaters. The release from the dam is the river below it, and the storage tells you whether that release will hold through the season.

The Full Contact Anglers reservoir page tracks the lakes that feed the rivers on the board. Gross, Dillon, Williams Fork, Cheesman, Eleven Mile, and Spinney in Colorado. Hebgen and Ennis in Montana. Island Park and Palisades in Idaho. Jackson Lake in Wyoming. Each card shows the percent full, the elevation, the flow in, and the flow out.

A reservoir that is filling means the river below is about to rise. One that is dropping means the release is the river and it may not last. Check the lake before you drive to the tailwater.
